Through her father Sigman, she is a U.S. citizen. The father of her, athlete Kenneth Ray Sigman was her mother. She began her career in Mexican television before she made her debut on film in Rio de Oro. In 2011, she played the leading role in the film Laura Guerrero in the Mexican crime drama film, Miss Bala. The film was chosen as the Mexican entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 84th Academy Award, but it was not on the shortlist.
