Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist as well as a businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, a non-profit liberal news website and a TV host author, author and charitable donor. Originally from Greece she moved to England in the year 16 after which she graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first non-native English speaking student to graduate, she was voted to the presidency of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She joined the conservative syndicated journalist after graduating and when The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform that provided criticisms of political situations. It was her celebrity that has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors to share their views about politics, news as well as culture. Arianna was famous following her decision to be an independent candidate in the California recall election, to take over then Governor Davis. She also headed the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. Her rank was 12th on Forbes' ranking of the most influential women in media. That same year, Guardian listed her among the 100 top media figures. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was named president of the group of media. This included many AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant as well as a journalist. They were very close to her father. However, it is her bond with her mother who shaped her. In her earliest years she displayed leadership abilities for which she has become well known. When she moved to England, she was 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she was part of the Cambridge Union debating group where she went on to become the first female president, and also the sole foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with master's degrees in Economics. After her graduation, she was a television presenter and columnist. She also appeared along with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
